We have a special guest returning to the podcast this week: Justin Varghese! Justin is the North American Marketing Manager at DreamHack. We invite him on to discuss the future of gaming conventions during and after COVID. It’s a great discussion on how the team at DreamHack has been navigating this time and preparing for what conventions will be going forward when we return to the new normal.
Justin also graciously joins us for the rest of the podcast where we talk about Rogue Company, a new shooter from the creators of Paladins and Realm Royale. This is a more casual take on the traditional shooter and both Austin and Brett had a good time in most cases navigating the systems inspired by games like Counter-Strike, Overwatch and more. We also derail in a debate about the Apple vs. Epic Games controversy and finally close the games segment with Justin’s impressions of Monster Train! Monster Train is an awesome deck-building roguelike game that is similar to Slay the Spire and a ton of fun.
In our news, we talk about the announcement for both Gotham Knights and Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad. We also discuss the new co-op mode coming to Ghosts of Tsushima, Battlefield 6 potentially supporting 128 players and finding out who the “Fallen One” was in Fall Guys.
