The Inner Gamer,

132: Splatoon 2, Aven Colony and the Summer Slog of Video Games

July 25, 2017

Splatoon 2 is here for the Nintendo Switch and it’s our first entry into multiplayer gaming on the handheld/home console system. We play and review what we think about this sequel. We also get our hands on Aven Colony, a new city builder/simulation game by Mothership Entertainment in Austin, TX and published by Team 17. You build a thriving new civilization on a faraway planet. Finally, we look back on Don’t Starve Together and talk about what makes that game so challenging and unique.

In our news segment, we have talk on the Ataribox, PUBG banning Dr. Disrespect, some changes in Bioware and Nazi Zombies. We also discuss the mess that was the Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago, IL. We also find out about Terry Crews and his surprisingly huge gaming history.

We’re back with our discussion topic and this time we’re going over how we as gamers deal with the summer slog. There aren’t many games that come out in the summertime so what’s the best methods for keeping up with games? If you have some great tips for how you deal with the summer slog or want to share what you did, let us know in the comments!
