God of War Ragnarok, The Game Awards & Darktide

Before we get into the show notes, we wanted to recognize an icon in the industry. Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman, recently passed away at the age of 66. He is and always will be the voice of Batman for us and it was an honor to have met him and share the impact he had on our childhood. Rest in peace Mr. Conroy.

In this episode we have our big review of God of War Ragnarok. It’s the hotly anticipated sequel to 2018’s God of War. This game is absolutely stunning in so many ways. We have a few complaints, but nothing that hurts the game from being the masterpiece that it is. It’s bigger in almost every way than the first game.

We also talk all about The Game Awards coming December 9th. We predict who will win and who we want to win from the top categories of the showcase. Who do you think will win game of the year?

We also look back in time at the best beginnings of video games. Games sometimes start well, sometimes they don’t. What games really hit home for you? Additionally, we talk about the best endings to games from Bioshock to God of War. Let us know your favorite beginnings and endings in our Discord channel!

Finally, we discuss the pre-release beta of Warhammer 40k Darktide. It’s the successor to Vermintide 2 and we have a lot of fun with it. However, is it enough to surpass Vermintide 2? It has a ton of new features and we can’t wait for the day one launch to see what changes and improvements are made to the game based on feedback.
