The Inner Gamer,

332: Deathloop, Halo Infinite and Marvel’s Gameverse

September 27, 2021

Arkane Lyon is back with a brand new game called Deathloop. We’ve seen a ton of it and finally got our hands on the full experience. In it, you play an assassin stuck in a time loop. You get to experiment with a series of sandbox levels using a variety of weapons, powers and more. Slowly experience the story as it unravels in a hip, 60’s style game. Brett also plays Halo Infinite in the multiplayer playtest over the weekend. It has a lot of potential although it runs a bit slow on Xbox One.

In the news, Nintendo has another Direct featuring N64 games and Bayonetta 3. Splitgate devs want to be the next Riot Games and Apple blocks Fortnite from the App Store until the disputes are done.

We invite Jason back to the podcast to talk about speculation on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. With Kraven the Hunter and Venom, there’s a lot of lore to explore and we share some of our thoughts. We also talk about the larger “gameverse” that could be coming. Will they make it happen?
