159: Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse, Burnout Paradise & Video Games as Art

February 27, 2018

Welcome to the last episode of February! We have some exciting games to share with you, both technically indie titles and both intense 4 player co-op games. Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse is just like it sounds…wait. How does that even sound? This may be the first ever mass-slaughter llama game ever. It’s a rogue-like top-down twin-stick shooter where you and up to 4 friends can fight off the zombie horde of llama’s. It’s insane but a blast to play. We also try out the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 beta which comes out March 8th. This game is everything you loved from the first one but improved in every way.

In our gaming news, President Trump talks about how video games have an effect on people’s mental health, we disagree but so do a lot of other people. What’s new? We also have Burnout Paradise coming back in a remastered form, Nintendo stole the show at the DICE awards and somehow played 200+ hours of Kingdom Hearts in the first island.

For our discussion, one of our listeners submitted a question that we all often ask: are video games art? We dive into the question itself and explain why they are indeed art and provide a huge collection of examples. The other question is whether or not it’s gone mainstream and although it’s getting that way, we’re not there yet. All of this and more can be garnered from this fun and far reaching discussion.
