Episode 120: What Remains of Edith Finch, Guardians of the Galaxy & Video Game Genres

April 25, 2017

What Remains of Edith Finch launches today and we reviewed it. This game left us in a state of emotional disarray but at the same wanting more. It’s become one of our favorite indie games of the year. We also review Telltale Game’s Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 1: Tangled Up in Blue. Finally, we venture into the world of Rick and Morty with Owlchemy Lab’s game Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality.

In our news segment, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes out this week! We also talk about juicy new details on Star Wars Battlefront 2, the potential of a SNES Classic Edition, Starcraft released for free and Everything is on sale on Steam.

Finally, our discussion topic is about adaptations in video game genres. We delve deep into the changing state of genres over the years and how some games have shifted the definition of a genre or created an entirely new one such as Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds.
