Well that sure took us by surprise. Right before Valentine’s Day, we’ve fallen in love with a new game called Celeste. This is a little indie platformer where you climb a mountain in one of the most challenging, yet rewarding experiences we’ve ever played. It’s gorgeous, difficult as all hell and the story and soundtrack are wonderful. We also play Brawlout, a game similar to Super Smash Bros. exclusive to the Switch. It also has The Drifter and Juan from Guacamelee. We’re cool with that.
In our news, one man spends too much time playing games, Nintendo has obsoleted itself and Destiny 2 sold really well. We also talk a lot about Kingdom Hearts 3 and it’s awesome new trailer with Mike Wazowski himself.
Our discussion this week comes from our Patreon subscriber Mark Jensen. He wanted us to explore the idea of creativity versus cost in games. Where do developers draw the line in making revenue stream systems and focus on making a good game? It’s a fun discussion that goes on several tangents we didn’t expect, but we promise it’s worth the ride. Thanks again Mark for the topic.
